I'm not sure if this story belongs here but I thought it was pretty cool.
Most of you probably don't recognize me as I am very new here. You can read my story on lost bears and cubs...
When I brought my second son home my best friend's mother, Donna, who loves tiny babies (who doesn't?), came to visit. She told me about when she was 18, back in the fifties, she was in the hospital having her 2nd child. There was a Native American couple, of the same tribe as my sons', there having a baby also. She told me that they were "older"-in their 30's and having their first child. Their last name was Goose and all of the nurses were calling her Mother Goose. They had nothing for their baby and had no idea what they should have. Donna at 18 years old and having her second child was a great source of information for them and told them how many diapers and such they should have. I thought it was a cute story.
Well, a couple of weeks ago I took my kids to their home town pow wow. I was shopping at the booths when I noticed a beautiful hand made doll that had a label on it that said "Made by M. Goose".
Tehe, I was so excited I'm sure that I made a fool out of myself. I asked who had made the doll and a woman behind the table said she did. I told her this story and after a couple of questions we both agreed that she must have been that baby . I just thought that was so cool. I had to buy something from her. I picked out an adorable pair of tiny beaded mocs and got my son a "pretty necklace" made by her sister. (I really wanted the doll but couldn't afford it.) I have no idea if this woman thought I was nuts or what.
I couldn't wait to show Donna my beautiful pin. She thought it was great that after all of these years that Baby Goose was still in the same area and doing well.
Just wanted to share that story-thanks for reading!
