New York Releases Draft Wild Turkey Management Plan
ALBANY, NY—The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) released a draft "Wild Turkey Management Plan" last week that's now available for public review and comment. The DEC says the management plan will provide a blueprint to guide wild turkey management in New York for the foreseeable future.
The complete plan is posted on the DEC's Web site at www.dec.state.ny.us/website/dfwmr/wildlife/turkey/turkplan.htm.
Public comments will be accepted through Oct. 15, 2004, and can be e-mailed to fwwildlf @ gw.dec.state.ny.us, with the words "Turkey Plan in the subject line.
