Jsut wanted to update you on my other post about the birmother wanting to place her child with white parents.
The baby is now 3 months old and the tribal counsel still has not made a ruling about whether or not this mother has the right to place her child for adoption outside the tribe.
Well, she announced this week that she has bonded with the baby and no longer wants to place him for adoption. She said in a tv interview that she has discovered that she is a much stronger person than she thought she was and that she could not send him off to someplace where he didn't know anyone. But she still believes that it should be a mother's right to choose.
I am happy that she has discovered her new-found strength and I pray that the people in her community give her lots of support! :) As the Tribal Council assured her, she will never regret this decision.
