Onondowaga I think means seneca or is seneca at a specific location...not sure.. Niagwahe or Sanj might know... git gweh seh I have no idea

Onondowaga means basically people of hills.
Gweh, I'm sure is from ongwehonwe, which I'm fairly sure means person.
"Onondowaga git gweh seh," propably, though I wouldn't bet the family farm on it, means someone is "Seneca."
Hey...I'm Mohawk, not Seneca...hehe.
I'm not good at the languages by any means (never put meaningful study and work into it). But I could probably find out.

My guess is:
She is "doing something" with the people of the great hill. Do I win a frybread or anything for guessing a little, kind of close?
"Onondowaga git gweh seh," .

maybe it means.. she comes from the people of the great hill?
Heres my replies so far
Hi Sandra,
I hope all is well.
Here is my transalation:
Onondowaga (Seneca)
git(?)
gweh (an _expression meaning basically "holy", "whoah" , or being a suprise)
seh (three)
The way it would be arranged in English would be backwards. So it would be something like, Three Suprised Senecas.
Not sure if this is right or even close. If you give info. how this phrase was used or in what context it is used...I am pretty sure I can find out more.
and the other reply I have is:
well from what I'm reading it sounds like the they are saying, git gweh
seh, meaning I was at or I am at, and Onondawaga, meaning Seneca
Nation.
another one I got was:
Sandra, According to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Blaine</st1:place></st1:City> Tallchief. (he says it is not spelled right) They (whoever) could be asking you if you are Seneca. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Suddenly no one cares anymore?!
I was quite shocked there were so many different translations of that.
I put word out I needed that translation and out of the blue someone sent me a Seneca Language book to help my "language problems" lol. Its really helpful too!
