She:kon!
Long time no chat.
I've been thinking recently about the schools in the Shenendahowa school system and have wonder which Nation and dialect they belong to. I'm thinking that the words were picked hodge podge, and wondered if they are more Oneida or Seneca. I would think they should be Mohawk, but... that would be to easy. Just curious.
Would anyone care to help?
Here's the names and what the school system says they mean:
Chango : happy cheerful
Skano: peace
Tesago: courage
Gowana:great
Koda: friend
Orenda: great spirit Acadia: Place of plenty
Arogen: to understand
Karigon: to join together
Okte: to achieve
Thanks, Jcmc
